New to the LGB Capital Markets team: Welcoming Omar Haroun

We are delighted to welcome Omar Haroun as an Associate Director in our Capital Markets team. Omar joined LGB in February 2026, and we are pleased to take this opportunity to introduce him.

From the Leveraged Finance desk to specialist capital markets

Omar brings over five years of experience at NatWest, where he worked within Leveraged Finance across two distinct stages of the deal lifecycle. Having joined as a Graduate in 2020, he spent his early years in the Portfolio Management team, where his coverage spanned venture and growth-stage businesses through to large-cap transactions. He then moved to the Origination team as an Associate in 2023, focusing on mid-market deals and remaining sector agnostic throughout.

His experience encompassed leveraged buyouts, acquisition financings, dividend recapitalisations and refinancings across a broad range of sectors, with the majority of counterparties being private equity-backed businesses. This gave Omar deep exposure to sponsor dynamics and complex capital structures, as well as the discipline of managing a live portfolio – balancing credit risk, covenant oversight and capital efficiency across a book of approximately £600 million in commitments.

Omar graduated from the London School of Economics with a BSc in Accounting and Finance. He is bilingual in English and Arabic. Outside of work, Omar is a former national-level competitive swimmer and went on to found and captain the LSE swim team during his time at university.

Joining the LGB team

Omar joins LGB with a strong focus on the structured finance and private credit space, and a particular interest in the origination and execution of Medium Term Note (MTN) programmes – a cornerstone of LGB’s capital markets activity.

He says: “What drew me to LGB was the opportunity to be genuinely close to the full lifecycle of our clients, from origination through to ongoing issuer management. In a larger institution, those stages are often siloed across different teams. Here, you develop a much deeper understanding of each issuer’s business, and that continuity is what allows you to add real value at every stage of the relationship, not just at the point of transaction.”

A strong addition to the Capital Markets team

Within the Capital Markets team, Omar works alongside Managing Director Andrew Boyle on origination, transaction structuring, and ongoing issuer management. His background in credit analysis, documentation negotiation, and portfolio management is well suited to the full deal lifecycle, from initial engagement with prospective issuers through to execution and post-issuance monitoring.

As LGB continues to grow its MTN origination and private credit capabilities, Omar’s experience in complex, structured transactions positions him well to support both issuer and investor relationships. We look forward to the contribution he will make to the team.
